Social Events

Being a friendly and sociable club at the centre of our local community is also important to us. Many friendships are formed and developed through the football club not just amongst the kids but also the parents and helpers. This is something we like to encourage. Here’s some of the events that we run:

Funday

Everyone attends our annual Funday each May. It the highlight of the season. In addition to small sided matches, sideshows, bar and bar-b-q, special end of season awards are made to selected players but every player receives a loyalty award. In most years these are presented by a Wycombe Wanderers player. In 2006 the awards were presented by Sergio Torres. This event is always very well attended and is free to enter.

Annual Disco

The Widmer End Disco is held before Christmas each year and is a great way for parents to socialise and to raise some extra funds for the club. This is usually held in the Village Hall.

Annual Dinner Dance

For the past 3 years we have held a very successful dinner dance with a silver service dinner followed by a live band. This is not a fund raising night, (it is priced to break even), its purpose is to pay tribute and thanks to all the volunteers that give up their time for the benefit of the club. Tickets for this night usually sell out as it is becoming a very popular night in everyone’s social calendar. Look out for details of this season’s event, and get your order for tickets in straight away.

Beer and Curry Night

Around the New Year period, it is becoming something of a tradition for managers and supporters of the club to get together to celebrate the fact that we are half way through the season and to toast our success in the second half over a few beers before retiring to a local restaurant for a curry. A good time is invariably had by all.
