Under 16's Widmer End United under 16's play in Division 2 of the Bucks Free Press Junior Football League (formally known as Wycombe & South Bucks Minor Football League). We have an enthusiastic and talented squad who all take an active part in the matches we play. As well as playing in the league the team is entered into the League Cup and will play in tournaments at the end of the league season.<.
League home games are played at Four Ashes, (Location...) Widmer End where we have an excellent pitch on which to play good football. Matches are on Sundays. The team is coached by Russell Whitelock, an FA qualified coach. The aim of the under 16 team is to continue to develop and improve as a squad by placing emphasis on key skills, teamwork and understanding of the game. Fitness is achieved by high tempo training sessions that are hard work but fun and always with a ball. Team selection is based on performance and attitude during matches and also at training. New players are always welcome to come along for a try out. Places are limited as we can only have 11 people on the park at one time on match days! The season runs from September to May with weekly training sessions held at Four Ashes, Widmer End on Fridays (from 6.30pm to 8pm). The League season runs from September to March.
